An ode to the garden city that once was

In a blink of the eye the city of lakes and gardens quickly changed to a city that is now recognised as the Sillicon Valley of India, with unicorns being raised faster than most builders’ delivery timelines!

Bangalore – known for its beautiful weather, expanses of green, lakes quickly attracted people from other cities to live quality lives amidst nature.

Locals in Bangalore would spend their evenings walking under canopies of trees in lanes dotted with bungalows that had monkey tops. Weekends were spent either in Cubbon park, or picnics were had by Ulsoor lake followed by a blockbuster at BRV theatre!

Soon those parks, theatres and lakes became malls, highways and corporate buildings. The old, paved for the new and in that process we forced nature out of the city – and Bangalore lost its old world charm.

At Tattvam, we try to create lives around nature – rather than on it.

We focus on greening spaces, rather than stripping them off the green.

We don’t cut forests, we plant them.

We morph the gaps between the indoors and the outdoors by incorporating biophilia into our built structures.

We realise that the only way to achieve quality of life, is not by taking nature out of spaces but by incorporating nature into spaces.

At Tattvam, we create sustainable lifespaces.
