Passing through Hosur Road on misty mornings, enroute my school I never failed to take a glance at the iconic Elgin Flour Mill which was constructed in the year 1930 to house a factory producing atta. A multi storied building with a red facade and a white mural of a flying glider on the southern wall amazed me. Come the early 90’s, down came the rocking ball mercilessly wiping out a piece of history, with it memories of an era bygone only to make way for its namesake “The Elgin”, apartments.
